Bharathidasan University on Wednesday launched ‘BDU – Mobile and Web App’ to provide faculty and students access to essential information about the university and its services.
The launch of the services by Vice-Chancellor P. Manisankar was live-streamed on youtube from the Video Conferencing Hall of University’s Informatics Centre, for participation by faculty members and students from 100 locations. G. Gopinath, University Registrar; K. Duraiarasan, Controller of Examinations; and Suriyanarayanan from the Ulketz Learning Solutions took part.
The App unifying the existing ICT resources and its unique features into a comprehensive, one-stop solution for education, skill development and careers was developed through a MoU between BDU and Ulketz Learning Solutions
The simplified interface created through the App as a part of Digital India Initiative will facilitate easy access to course materials and enable flipped classroom for improving the students’ engagement. The App will increase learning outcomes alongside providing curated resources for skill development, test preparation, internships, and jobs. The seamlessly (Software as a Service) SaaS-based cloud integrated Learning Management System (LMS) will help students and faculties to connect with their peers, alumni, expert faculties and educators worldwide.
It is also an initiative of the university towards implementation of the LMS for flipped classroom pedagogy required for the NAAC Re-accreditation process. The App could be accessed with adroid mobile phones and web-enabled devices by clicking the link provided in the university website www.bdu.ac.in. It has been made available for the faculty, students and alumni of the University. It is also available in Google Play store for Android Mobile phones.
