How Artificial Intelligence will create more job opportunities

The future of IT jobs is changing very rapidly. The technology industry today is very different from how the IT industry has been over the last three decades with innovation being the key differentiating factor. Today the demand for the Artificial Intelligence has increased many folds.

As the AI is now playing a key role in shaping the world, many IITs have started special courses for AI. Technology is considered to be the force behind driving businesses, creating jobs and for the overall economic development of a country. If you are aspiring to take Artificial Intelligence as a career option in the near future, then you can pursue Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Computer Sciences.

Giving this a further boost, the finance minister Piyush Goyal in his Budget Speech 2019 announced that a national AI portal will be developed by the government to harness the benefit from new age technologies.

Creating AI portal will help the nation to create more jobs as Artificial Intelligence, Machine learning, Robotics and the integration of Machine learning with Biological sciences where the graduates can play an important role in the future.

“In order to take benefits of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and related technologies to the people, a national programme on artificial intelligence has been envisaged by our government. This should be catalysed by the establishment of the National Centre of AI as a hub along with centres of excellence. Nine priority areas have been identified,” Goyal said.

Some of the other new areas witnessing traction are internet of things (IoT), cloud computing, blockchain, quantum computing and security. These technologies will necessitate new skills and roles, opening up possibilities for the talent pool and next generation of professionals.

AI technology helps in analysing data in various technologies to improve the efficiency of the system like power management in cars, mobile devices, weather predictions, video, image analysis etc.

Goyal said that the digital infrastructure in the digital economy of 2030 will be built upon successes achieved in recent years in digitisation of government processes and private transactions.

“Our youth will lead us in this endeavour with innumerable startups, creating digital India and millions of jobs in the ecosystem,”  Goyal said.

Here is the list of some of the IITs which have started new courses in AI.

1) IIT Kharagpur

2) IIT Hyderabad

3) IIT Powai

4) IIT Madras

5) IISc, Bangalore

6) IIT Bombay
