The varsity recently started a student service centre at its Thane sub-campus, which was set up four years ago to decentralise student-related services offered by the university to affiliate colleges in Mumbai and other districts in Konkan.
Those studying in Thane colleges affiliated with the University of Mumbai (MU) will no longer be required to visit MU’s Fort or Kalina campus to avail services such as convocation, other certificates, submitting exam-related applications and registering complaints.
The varsity recently started a student service centre at its Thane sub-campus, which was set up four years ago to decentralise student-related services offered by the university to affiliate colleges in Mumbai and other districts in Konkan.
“It is an important step to strengthen the sub-campus by decentralising MU’s administrative work by delivering services directly to the students without wasting their time,” said MU vice-chancellor Suhas Pednekar.
Besides availing eligibility, migration, transfer and convocation certificates, students can apply for examination, re-evaluation and photocopies of their answer sheets, corrections in their mark sheets and register for postgraduate courses as well. The centre will also provide guidance and distribute study material to the students enrolled in MU’s Institute of Distance and Open Learning (IDOL).
