UPSC IES/ISS Notification 2019: Application begins today at upsc.gov.in. Check all important details.
UPSC IES ISS 2019:
Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will issue the official notification for the Indian Economic Services (IES) and Indian Statistical Service (ISS) Exam 2019 today, March 20. The notification will have the details of vacancies, posts, eligibility, age limit, pay scale, selection process and other details.

- Last date to apply—– April 16
- Exam commencing on—- – June 28 for 3 days.
If you are applying for the first time for IES/ISS exam, you should have an idea of what is the exam for and how it is conducted. Before the notification is released, let’s look at the last year trend about the scheme of examination, eligibility, number of vacancy and other details that can help you have a clear picture about the recruitment exam.
In the year 2018, the notification for UPSC IES/ISS was released on February 9.
There were 44 posts in 1) Indian Economic Service (15 posts) 2) Indian Statistical Service (29 posts) would be filled through the examination.
Scheme of exam
The Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service Examination is conducted in two stages: 1) The written exam carrying a maximum of 1000 marks 2) The Viva-voce (oral exam) carrying a maximum of 200 marks.
There is negative marking for wrong answers by a candidate in the objective type question papers.
Exam Paper
The question papers in all subjects in Indian Economic Service Examination and in Indian Statistical Service Examination will be of conventional (essay) type except in Statistics Paper I and Statistics Paper II which are of objective type. All question papers must be answered in English.
A combined competitive examination for recruitment to Junior Time Scale of the Services will be held by UPSC commencing from May 12, 2017 at various centres across the country (see details in the notification below).
Exam Results
The centres and the date of holding the examination as mentioned above are liable to be changed at the discretion of the commission. The results of the written part of the examination is likely to be declared in the month of August, 2017.
So, as soon as the notification is released at the UPSC website, it is advised to go through the notification and apply for the post.
