A conference of the Directors of the Indian Institute of Technology, National Institute of Technology and the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur will be hosted by President Ram Nath Kovind at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. The Office of the President of Indian released a statement on its official website on November 15, 2019, mentioning the details of the conference. As per the statement released the conference will be conducted tomorrow, November 19, 2019.
According to the press release given on the official website of the President of India the conference will be conducted as part of a regular interaction of the President with the institutions in his power as a visitor to the 152 Central Universities and Institutions of Higher Learning.

According to the details mentioned in the press conference, the agenda of the conference will be to include the deliberations on the challenges and opportunities along with the board parameters based on which the NIRF rankings are given. The conference will throw light on the participation and contribution of the alumni in activities of the institutes and the steps to increase the representation of female faculty and student intake.
According to the statement released, the conference will also discuss the ways to involve the students in the process of nation-building and promotion of research, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Other agendas of the conference include filling up the vacancies in the institutions, including faculty from foreign universities and also review the major infrastructure projects in the institutions.

Along with the directors of the National Institute of Technology’s, Indian Institute of Technology’s, and the Indian Institute of Engineering, Science and Technology, Shibpur, the conference will also be attended by the Union Human Resource Development Minister, Minister of State in Ministry of Human Resource Development, Secretary (Higher Education), Secretary- Department of Science and Technology and AICTE Chairman.
