The Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) on Monday released hall tickets with exam centre details for block education officer’s recruitment test scheduled to be conducted on February 14. The TRB would release in the next two days hall tickets for candidates whose exams will be held on February 15 and 16. The online test will be conducted in three days.More than 60,000 candidates applied to the exam. The TRB is randomly assigning the exam centres to the aspirants. Candidates will know the exam centre details on three days in advance.”After registering their user id and password, candidates can download the details of exam centres and address from the board’s website, www.trb.tn.nic.in. All the candidates should bring the latest hall tickets to the exam centres,” it said. As per the earlier system, candidates can opt for exam centres. The new system was introduced in the wake of TNPSC Group IV and Group II-A exams, where candidates opted for exam centres in Ramanathapuram district as per the instructions of brokers. Brokers gave the candidates special pens with evaporating ink. They later shaded the correct responses for candidates from whom they had taken money.

Man robbed of credit card, cash: A credit card and 4,000 cash was stolen from a motorbike in Pulianthope on Sunday night. Police said Mohammed Payaz, 24 a resident of Otteri and an employee in a tech firm, was duped on Sunday night. After playing with his friends, he returned to his motorbike and noticed that his helmet was missing. When he checked the pouch on the vehicle, his credit card and 4,000 cash kept in it were stolen. Based on his complaint, the Pulianthope police registered a case.
Two held for celebrating birthday with machetes: Two youngsters were arrested for celebrating the birthday of their friend by brandishing machetes at Tiruvallur.
