Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Bombay’s National Education Day program will be held today, November 10. Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank will be the chief guest and will inaugurate the program at 11 am. The program can be watched live on the official Twitter or Facebook page of the Education Minister.
The inauguration ceremony would be held in virtual mode. Dr. K. Kasturirangan, former Chairman, ISRO, and Chairman of the committee for drafting the New Education Policy (NEP) would also be present at the event.

Education Minister would speak about reforms in NEP and would also shed light on its implementation process. He took his official Twitter page to make the announcement. He wrote, “Going #live tomorrow at 11 AM on my Twitter & Facebook pages to inaugurate @iitbombay’s National Education Day program & workshop on #NEP2020. The session will focus on reforms in #NEP & shed light on its implementation process. Do tune in!”
National Education Day is celebrated every year on November 11 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. Mr Azad was the first Education Minister of independent India.

Meanwhile, IIT Bombay has announced an online semester for first-year undergraduate, UG students on November 4, 2020. The orientation programme for the new batch begins on November 11, while classes will begin from November 16, 2020. The students have been equipped with all the necessities to attend the classes online.
