The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is a statutory body set up by Parliament’s Act, that is to say, Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 (Act No. XXXVIII of 1949) to govern the country’s Chartered Accountancy practice. The Institute works under the administrative supervision of the Government of India’s Ministry of Corporate Affairs. The ICAI is the world’s second-largest professional body of Chartered Accountants, with a long history of public service to the Indian economy.

The process of becoming a Chartered Account (CA) is difficult, as applicants at various levels have to clear different tests, but it is very promising. While the length of the Chartered Accountancy course is almost 5 years, if applicants make more than one attempt to clear the exams, it can take more time than that.
The dates for the Chartered Accountants (CA) test scheduled for January have been announced by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). According to ICAI, “the examination will begin on January 21 in all cities where the examination is currently scheduled for November examination.” In addition, after the final date of the opt-out scheme, the notification mentioned information related to the examination schedule and admit card will likely be intimated quickly.

To ensure their safety, ICAI has provided candidates with an opportunity to opt-out. Even during the test, this facility will be used in case an applicant begins displaying signs of the virus or someone in their family contracts it or the environment in which a student lives is turned into a polluted region.
A total of 4, 71,619 candidates will take the CA exams through 1,085 exam centers beginning on 21 November. The overall number of candidates appearing on any single day would be about 1, 52,000 and the average per exam center would be 147 candidates. Meanwhile, over 30 exam centers have been changed by ICAI, days ahead of the CA tests. A total of 147 students will appear per exam center, as per ICAI. No new admission cards will be given to students whose exam centers have been updated. Such candidates will notice that the admission cards already issued for the examination in November 2020 will also remain valid for the new venue.
