MUMBAI: Mumbai University’s PhD entrance test (PET) will finally be held on February 28, after a delay of one year. The university had invited applications till March 31 last year and around 6,500 aspirants registered for it. The exam, however, was never conducted.
The university will now give an extension of one week for interested students to apply till January 28. Those who applied last year need not re-apply and their applications would be accepted, said the university in a statement.
Of the 6,512 applications received last year, 461 were from other states. The highest applications of 3,340 came from science and technology, followed by 1,691 from anthropology and 1,148 from commerce and management subject. Over 320 applications were received for MPhil entrance exam. The numbers are likely to go up in this one week’s extension.
