NEET 2021 exam: Important points to note and all you need to know

The National Eligibility cum entrance test (NEET) is an all India premedical entrance test for students who wish to pursue undergraduate medical, dental equivalent courses on government and private institution in India as well as medical qualification abroad.

The exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) which provides the result to the Directorate General of Health Services for seat allocation.

Earlier the Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal announced that there will be a 30 percent reduction in the class 12 syllabus, syllabus for NEET 2021 has created a lot of confusion among the students.

So here are the important points that you all need to know about NEET 2021:

Registration dates for NEET 2021:

National Testing Agency (NTA) has not announced any official dates for NEET 2021, registration process is yet to start but expected to be available soon.

Mode of Examination NEET 2011:

The examination will be conducted in an offline mode ( pen and paper) only.

Total duration of examination time NEET 2021

The total duration of the examination time is 180 minutes.

NEET 2021 new syllabus:

There is no change in NEET 2021 syllabus. The syllabus for NEET 2021 would remain the same as it was prescribed before. There is no reduction or addition in the NEET syllabus

The exam covers both class 11th and 12th complete syllabus.

Changes in NEET 2021 exam pattern:

The total number of questions to be attempted to be the same but the number of questions in each section will be increased, this will provide choice to the candidates.
Questions expected to appear from each section in NEET 2021:

Students are required to attempt 45 questions, about 50 questions to be added to the question paper to include choice as per interaction with the education minister. Till 2020, the NEET question paper used to have 180 questions which included 90 questions from biology and 45 questions each from physics and chemistry.

This year the number of questions would be increased to include a choice for the reduced syllabus.

Marking scheme for NEET 2021:

The paper is of a total of 720 marks and students are required to attempt 180 questions.

Each question would be objective worth of 4 marks each. For every correct answer, the student will get a plus 4 while 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.

The NEET 2021 exam date is yet to be announced but expected to be announced anytime soon and the application forms will be available soon as the registration process begins.
