Chandigarh University announces the launch of UGC-DEB recognized Online Degree Programs

CHANDIGARH UNIV

Chandigarh University, is announcing the launch of 3 Undergraduate and 10 Postgraduate online degree programs. Ranked A+ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Chandigarh University is offering degrees to a large number of students all over India who are looking to earn formal degrees in a flexible online environment whilst pursuing jobs, studying or preparing for competitive exams in parallel. The university is opening admissions for 3 undergraduate programs (BBA, BCA, BA – Journalism & Mass Communication) and 10 masters programs (MCA, MCom, MSc Data Science, and 4 MBAs) in the online mode.

Chandigarh University’s move aligns with the Government of India’s larger goal to provide quality education to lakhs of Indian students who are looking for an alternative to the traditional distance and offline learning modes of obtaining degrees without compromising on learning and career outcomes. Earlier this year, the Government of India unveiled its goal to push India’s Global Enrolment Ratio (the percentage of Indian youth pursuing their higher education) from the current 25% to 50% by 2050 with online education playing a key role in driving the growth. Chandigarh University’s online mode of learning will offer a high-engagement experience to the learners, thus, driving tangible professional outcomes without compromising on flexibility.

The online learning experience offered by Chandigarh University programs will be augmented by leading ed-tech player, upGrad, which has proven its mettle in enabling high-outcome personalised learning at scale by impacting over a million learners globally.

Given upGrad’s LMS support, CU’s online degree programs will include personalized learning tracks, ranging from private and government job prep to study abroad track, tailormade to the career goals and motivations of the students. Students will benefit from the internship opportunities and placement assistance, regular interaction with faculty and industry experts, dedicated live sessions for doubt resolution and collaboration with peers via discussion forums and projects.

Commenting on the partnership, Phalgun Kompalli, Co-founder, upGrad said, “We are glad to augment Chandigarh University’s online learning platform to enable India’s youth to gain their formal degrees completely online. With our robust learning delivery, we aim to break the barriers of reach and accessibility for our learners across BHARAT and instill skill-sets that enhance their employability quotient and future-proof their career in the long run. With Chandigarh University’s unprecedented industry patronage and global exposure coupled with upGrad platform’s capability to horsepower effective learning online, we are proud to offer a portfolio of India’s most power-packed degree programs online.”

The online learning platform will allow students to learn from university professors and industry leaders through live as well as recorded lectures while simultaneously interacting with peers on discussion forums and group doubt solving sessions thus replicating the high- touch offline learning in an online set-up. Learners will be required to follow a strict learning schedule, complete continued assessments, and appear for fully proctored examinations to successfully earn their degrees. To provide more value to students, students can opt for internship opportunities, industry mentored capstone projects and job-oriented certifications in fields like digital marketing, data science, and business analytics. All these elements along with direct access to employers through the online job portal will ensure direct career outcomes for learner’s post completion.

Admissions are now open for the first batch which starts in February 2021.
