New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) released the date sheet of Classes 10 and 12 examinations on Tuesday. The exams are scheduled to be held from May 4 to June 10. Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank released the datasheet through a video message and wished students for the exams. The datasheet is available at cbse.nic.in.
In 2020, exam schedule was of 45 days, but in 2021, exam schedule is of 39 days. However, the board claims to have given “sufficient” time between exams of two main subjects to help students prepare.
Due to the pandemic, the syllabus for both Class 10 and 12 exams has been reduced by 30 per cent. Further, board exams will have 33 per cent internal choice questions. The schools will conduct practical exams from March 1.
The exams will be held following the COVID-19 pandemic protocols. Wearing a face mask and carrying hand sanitisers will be a must and social distancing will be maintained.
CBSE class 10 exams will begin on May 4 and conclude on June 10. The exams will be held from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm.
Class 12 exams to be held in 2 shifts.
Last year, as the board exams were cancelled due to pandemic, CBSE adopted a new marking scheme. As per the new marking scheme, the subjects for which exams could not be held, marks will be based on the ‘average of best of three subjects’ for which the student has already given the exam.
In case a student has appeared for only three papers, the assessment will be made on the basis of the best of two, and for limited students who have appeared for only one or two exams, the marks obtained in the internal or practicals will be considered.
