Balasore: Universities, colleges, research institutes are abode to knowledge and Industries are abode to practical applications of such knowledge. While Universities are foundation pillars for generating ideas, innovations, and knowledge, industries are the elementary base for applications of the same. Students come to Universities with a dream to learn, discuss, experience an start their career, and in this succession, all their aims get fulfilled when they get employment in Industrial sectors or other sectors. Thus, while University stands for training young brains, industries stand for widening employment to such young brains. Therefore, University-Industry Partnership is the need of the hour said Prof. Dinabandhu Sahoo, Vice-Chancellor, F.M University while addressing students of the university.
The Vice-Chancellor started a new initiative “ Meet the Eminent Academicians and People from Corporate World ”where there will be lecture/ interaction series to inspire students for their future. While launching first of such lecture/ interaction series the chief speaker was Dr H. K Pattnaik, Global Industrialists from Vadodara. He beautifully explained about global waste management techniques and opportunities for employment for students in the industry sector.
Further, addressing the students, teachers and others Prof. Sahoo urged to understand the value of education and employment in one’s life. He further emphasized that a highly educated scholar without proper employment cannot quest the best-desired goals of life and similarly a
quality employed person without proper education cannot excel in life,
therefore a balance between the two is the most essential need of the hour. He
said “Students are the bright future of our Nation and their education
employability is our topmost priority. Thus, I declare that F.M University will always stand up to its commitment and to encourage this further a new lecture series between students and Eminent academicians and corporate world tycoons would be regularly organized in the campus, so as to motivate students to find their employments and enrich their ideas” Therefore, University-Industry partnership idea is not restricted to F.M University alone but an initiate which must be a part of the curriculum for all educational institutions, across the country.
On this event, Prof. Sahoo honoured Dr Patnaik with a souvenir from F. M University as a token of appreciation. Students and teachers were very happy, excited and enthusiastic about this venture. Students of the final year said “Since we all come to university shouldering
our own dreams and parents aspirations, University-Industry Partnership will be
a golden opportunity for us to cherish all our dreams successfully. It’s a direct
ticket to make our future bright and secure.” The event was a grand success and everyone participated in it with great enthusiasm.
