HYDERABAD: Total eight colleges from Telangana were accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) this year, results of which were declared by the standing committee recently. As per the NAAC data, Vasavi College of Engineering and Gokaraju Rangaraju Institute of Engineering and Technology (GRIET) secured A++ grade whereas KG Reddy College of Engineering and Technology, Methodist College of Engineering and Technology, Hyderabad and Hyderabad Institute of Technology and Management, Hyderabad secured A+ grade. “This grading was conferred on GRIET by NAAC on the basis of evaluation of its performance in seven different quality parameters like Curricular aspects, Teaching Learning Evaluation, Research & Extension activities, etc. Only a handful of higher education institutions in the country have managed to get A++ rating,” said Praveen Jugge, GRIET principal. The Government Degree College, Medak and Kavitha Memorial Degree College, Khammam secured B grade and Government Degree College, Sadasivpet secured C grade in the recent NAAC assessment. Assessment of ABV Government Degree College, Jangaon has been kept in abeyance and grading of Sridevi Women’s Engineering College remained unchanged at B++ despite an appeal by the college management.
