To bring more drivers into the industry, Doug Bradley Trucking is establishing a scholarship fund at Salina Area Technical College.
The scholarship fund will pay full tuition for two students in all four of the college’s commercial truck driving classes each year.
The truck driving class is an eight-week course, with tuition being $3,459. The next two scheduled classes begin Aug. 19 and Oct. 18.
This isn’t the first time Bradley Trucking has worked with Salina Tech, as it has donated semi-trucks and trailers to the college for use in commercial truck driving.
“That equipment is being put to very good use” said Bradley Trucking President Jamie Bradley. “In our industry, one of the struggles we face is to find qualified drivers, to find competent, safe drivers that we can put behind the wheel.”
