BENGALURU: While the Centre on Tuesday announced cancellation of CBSE class 12 exams, Karnataka said it will decide on the state board exams soon after weighing all options. Both SSLC and II PU exams have been postponed. SSLC was scheduled to start from June 21 and II PU from May 24. “A decision will be taken after assessing the situation in the state. Opinion gathered on the preparedness of students, the requirement of evaluation and other aspects will be deliberated,” primary and secondary education minister S Suresh Kumar said. Meanwhile, politicians from BJP supported the Centre’s decision to scrap CBSE exam. Higher education minister CN Ashwath Narayan tweeted: “As always, the paramount interest of both the students and parents have been considered. Thank you PM Shri @narendramodi ji for the prompt action.” MP PC Mohan tweeted: “Health and safety of our students is of utmost importance.”
