The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has decided to offer three new online courses to students and working professionals looking to enhance their skills, completely free of cost. These courses are being offered by the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS).
The courses being offered by ISRO and IIRS are free of cost for all the applicants, and those who complete the course will also be awarded a certificate at the end of the program. Keeping in mind the current pandemic situation, the courses will be conducted online.
ISRO Online Courses: Details
ISRO and IIRS are offering a total of three free-of-cost courses in online mode. These courses are-
- Course on Machine learning to Deep Learning: A journey for remote sensing data classification
- Course on Overview of Web GIS Technology
- Course on Earth Observation for Carbon Cycle Studies
Aspiring candidates must note that the application window for all three courses is now open. Candidates who wish to apply can do so by visiting the official website of IIRS, iirs.gov.in, and filling out the registration form if they are eligible.

All the candidates who register successfully can attend the online courses through any web browser. The candidates will have to enter the class through the online portal of IIRS Dehradun. The candidates will also have to option to attend the live workshop via the YouTube channel of IIRS.
According to the details mentioned on the web page, the participants who complete 70% of sessions of the course live via the e-class portal will get the certificate. The candidates attending the YouTube session will be required to mark their attendance offline.
