Youths interested in science or space encouraged to apply for national scholarship

“There are few areas more exciting than science and flight. My career was outstanding, and I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to learn and succeed. Our future is now in the hands of Canada’s youth.”

Youths have until Friday, July 16, to submit applications — an essay of 500 words or a two-minute video — for the scholarships. Interested individuals should visit rcaffoundation.ca/portfolio-items/student-scholarship to apply.

Students will have to choose from one of three categories. The categories are as follows:

• women entering or already attending any Canadian post-secondary education institution or flight school in the areas of S.T.E.M. education with plans to pursue a career in the Aviation and Aerospace industry;
• those who identify as Indigenous, visible minority, LGBTQ+, or as a person with disabilities, and are entering or already attending any Canadian post-secondary education institution or flight school in the areas of S.T.E.M. education with plans to pursue a career in the Aviation and Aerospace industry; and
• students entering or already attending any Canadian post-secondary education institutional or flight school in the areas of S.T.E.M. education with plans to pursue a career in the Aviation and Aerospace industry, whose parents either currently serve, or have retired from, the Royal Canadian Air Force.

The two questions are about the student’s career aspirations and visions for their future in the aviation and aerospace industries, and their most important character attribute or personal life experience is and how it will help them make meaningful contributions to their future workplace and community.
