National Medical Commission, NMC has issued a warning and clarification for Indian Students wanting to apply for MBBS Admissions in Kyrgyzstan. As per a letter issued by NMC, students have been warned against a fake letter circulating about MBBS recognition for Avicenna International Medical University in Krygyzstan.
As per the fake letter online, NMC has recognised the Avicenna International Medical University in Kyrgyzstan and Indian students can study there to become a doctor. However, the apex medical education regulator has denied this claim and issued a clarification.
In the official notice issued, NMC director Pankaj Agarwal has clarified that NMC has not issued any such clarification and that the letter in circulation is fake. The official notice issued by NMC has been shared below for reference.
Related to medical colleges and universities in Kyrgyzstan, NMC also issued a warning in February 2022 to students about the possible problems that could arise in pursuing MBBS in the newly launched colleges in the country.
“It has come to the notice of Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India that few new Medical Colleges have been launched in Kyrgyzstan in last one year namely, the Avicenna University, Adam University, Royal Metro, Int’l Medical University, Salymbekov University, ABC etc. and nearly two hundred Indian students have already been enrolled in these institutions without enrollment of a single Kyrgyz Student. In this context, any prospective student needs to be aware that there may be some supervisory, regulatory and infrastructural issues in these institutions that should not be overlooked before taking admissions there,” read the February notice issued by the commission.
This is not the first time NMC has issued such warning for student. NMC has warned Indian students and asked them to decide diligently before planning to pursue medicine and MBBS abroad.
