NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has begun the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG 2023) registration for undergraduate, postgraduate admission in central universities and other participating institutions. Candidates will be able to apply at cuet.samarth.ac.in before CUET 2023 application form last date.
The NTA has announced some major changes in the CUET 2023 exam pattern, registration fees and number of questions to be attempted in the exam. Aspirants who wish to appear for the undergraduate entrance exam can check the changes introduced for CUET UG 2023 here.
CUET 2023: Major changes introduced
Here’s the list of changes introduced by the NTA for this year’s CUET UG 2023 exam. Increase in number of slots – The NTA held the CUET exam in two slots last year – shift 1 from 9 AM to 12.15 PM and shift 2 from 3 PM to 6.45 PM. However, it has been increased to 3 slots this year. Increase in number of subject choices – Candidates applying for the exam could last year choose 9 subjects only, however, this academic year, they will be able to choose maximum of 10 subjects from all three sections. Increase in CUET 2023 registration fees – CUET UG 2023 fees is charged based on the number of subjects chosen by the candidates. Last year, general category students opting for up to four subjects had to pay a CUET registration fee of Rs 650. But this year, they will have to pay a fee of Rs 750 for up to 3 subjects. Those appearing from outside India have to now pay Rs 3,750 for 3 subjects and a maximum of Rs 11,000 for 10 subjects. Last year, they had to submit Rs 3,000 despite the number of subjects chosen.

Number of questions to be attempted reduced – The NTA has reduced the number of questions to be attempted by candidates for CUET exam 2023. While Section 1A and 1B has the same pattern, the number of questions to be attempted in section 2 and 3 has been reduced.
