To be eligible, an applicant must –
- be an Indian citizen
- be of 18 years of age and above
- be enrolled in a Gemology lab class at the GIA Indian campus
Note –
- Indian citizens permanently/temporarily residing in the US are not eligible to apply.
- GIA staff and their immediate family members are not eligible for GIA scholarship awards.
Selected students will receive a one-time tuition fee waiver against their selected courses at the GIA campuses in India.
- Letter of reference to recommend the applicant for the GIA scholarship that must include-
- Writer’s information
- Their relationship with the applicant
- Reason for recommendation
- How the scholarship will help the applicants to achieve their goals
Note –
- The letter of recommendation must not be handwritten but typed in English or accompanied by an English-language translation.
- The writer of the letter should be a professional working in an organization. Other acceptable writers include the employees of GIA, church members, teachers, and members of community or non-profit organisations.
- Letters if available must be written on company letterhead.
- The letter must be signed and dated within the past 12 months and must include the writer’s contact information (name, address, phone, and email address).
- The letter must be in PDF/Word document/JPEG format. No other format is acceptable.
Eligible candidates can apply for the position using the steps listed below-

Step 2: Click on the ‘Register‘ button on the right-hand side of the dashboard and fill in the required details to ‘Register‘. (Note – If already registered, log in using the registered email ID.)
Step 3: Click on the ‘Apply Now’ button.
Step 4: Click on the ‘New Student’ option, provide the required details and carefully read the terms and conditions before clicking on the ‘Submit’ button. (Note – Students who are already registered, can use valid credentials to log in.)
Step 5: Click on the ‘Password Reset’ button in the email received on the registered email id and set up a password.
Step 6: Now, click on the ‘Scholarship Application’ option, fill in all the required details and upload the necessary documents to complete the application.
