Lalit Kala Akademi Scholarship 2023

Eligibility

To be eligible, an applicant must –

  • be a citizen of India
  • be in the age group of 21 to 35 years as on 1st January 2023
  • belong to an art background or have an education in the field of Arts Degree/ diploma, (or) proof of work experience in the field of visual art for at least five years
  • have adequate knowledge in the selected discipline applied for

Note –

  • Candidates undergoing regular studies are not eligible for the scholarship.
  • Other qualifications for the award of the scholarship shall be, as determined by the Akademi, from time to time.
Benefits

Each scholar will receive INR 20,000 per month for a period of one year to cover living expenses, travel expenses, purchase of art material, etc.

Documents

  • A short biodata
  • Attested copies of education qualifications (degrees, diplomas etc.), experience, etc.
  • One self-attested copy of matriculation or equivalent certificate or other admissible evidence of age
  • One passport-size recent photograph
  • Five original attested copies of photographs of the artworks that have been produced by the candidate in the last five years, along with details carrying the information of title/medium/size and year of execution. (The attestation of the above-mentioned copies is to be done by a senior artist/ known art teacher)
  • A statement about the work (between 10 to 15 lines)
  • Written concept note on the proposed research work (400 words)
  • In case the applicants, have written/published any publication, then they must submit one published article of 1,000 to 1,500 words. Applicants sending published articles in languages other than Hindi or English must send their translations in Hindi or English
  • Details and value of artworks or publications of the applicants that have been sold during the last three years and approximate income from the sale proceeds or publications
  • Details of exhibitions in which the artworks of the applicants have been exhibited
  • Particulars of any scholarship/fellowship received in the past and its amount and duration to be submitted along with details of awards, recognition, and distinction that have been received by the applicant
  • Two reference letters, at least one from a senior artist or a known art teacher
  • Particulars of financial aid other than scholarship/fellowship received from other agencies, including foreign agencies during the last five years, and the purpose for which it was received.
  • Applicant must attach the certificate of disability (Note: In case of differently abled applicants), Scheduled Caste/Tribe or Backward Classes issued by the competent authority

Note: The applicants must write their name and details on photographs or articles for verification. The documents must be provided on a non-returnable basis and will be retained by the Akademi for future reference.

Step 3: Read the instructions carefully, download the application form, fill in the required details, scan and upload the necessary documents.
