Rohit graduated in chemical engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata and joined a pharmaceutical firm. However, post-GATE, he resigned to pursue a different career path. He is currently an operations engineer at Hindustan Petroleum.
Rohit’s preparation for GATE was largely self-study. With the help of online resources and the support of educators at Unacademy, he was able to create a comfortable yet efficient study plan.
“Consistency, discipline, and a good strategy are the three primary tools to crack any competitive exam,” he shares.
KEEPING STRESS AT BAY
In today’s academic climate, striking a balance between studies and personal life is key. Rohit found that perfect balance through music and cooking, which he describes as “the biggest stress-busters.”
“Additionally, I also watch cricket extensively. Even during my preparation, I rarely missed a match which helped me take productive breaks,” he says.
AN IMPRESSIVE TRACK RECORD
Rohit cleared two engineering entrance exams earlier; JEE Mains and the Advanced WBJEE that paved his way to Jadavpur University admission.
He was also a district topper from Bhojpur in Bihar, scoring 79.8% in his Class 12 exam and 86% in his Class 10.
FUTURE PLANS
With an aim to pursue a career in the Public Sector Unit (PSU), Rohit plans to take the necessary academic steps ahead.
A shining example of sheer dedication and the power of self-study, Rohit’s journey offers valuable insights to anyone preparing for competitive exams, proving that with the right amount of effort, any aspiration can be achieved.
