IIT Delhi begins innovative design thinking programme through online course

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has come up with an exclusive programme which will focus on Design Thinking and Innovation. Applicants can now try their hands in this field by enrolling in the sixth edition of the Continuing Education Programme (CEP) offered by the institution. The application window is open, and eligible candidates can submit their applications through the official website, iitd.emeritus.org, on or before September 13, 2023.

COURSE DURATION
As per the information, the course will commence on December 28, the 20-week. It will be an online course with over 150 recorded video lectures, more than 15 assignments, 10 plus short quizzes, two weekly office hours with faculty, three live webinars, and one capstone project.

ABOUT COURSE
The programme has been designed to cater to a diverse audience, spanning designers and design engineers, creative managers, art directors, UX designers, entrepreneurs, innovation and growth consultants, product managers, marketing managers, branding managers, growth managers, R&D managers, rural entrepreneurs, small and medium enterprises, and professionals seeking to harness the power of design thinking and innovation.

WHO CAN APPLY?
In order to apply, candidates should have a graduate degree (10+2+3) or a diploma (10+2+3) from a recognised university in any discipline. They should have a minimum of 50 percent marks and a minimum of one year of work experience.

The programme comprises 14 modules that have a wide array of subjects. The topics include an introduction to human-centered design (HCD), the synergy between HCD and innovation, consideration of context, environment, and users, techniques for identifying user needs, ideation, and immersion, the art of storytelling and visualisation, iterative design techniques alongside sustainability principles, the significance of Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and New Product Development (NPD), the role of agile design and data-driven innovation, harmonising design, technology, and business, navigating the innovation project lifecycle and leveraging innovation management tools, formulating effective innovation strategies and translating ideas into market realities, as well as strategies for designing adaptability and change.

CANDIDATES WILL GET COMPLETION CERTIFICATE OF IIT DELHI
Upon successful completion of the programme, participants achieving a minimum score of 60 percent across all evaluation components and successfully finishing the capstone project will be awarded a prestigious completion certificate from IIT Delhi.

Those who fall short of the 60 percent benchmark or are unable to complete the project will receive a participation certificate, acknowledging their dedication and engagement throughout the course.
