The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow today announced the setting up of the Radhakrishnan Gopalan Young Faculty Researcher endowment. The award is initiated by the IIM Lucknow Batch of 1996. The Young Faculty Researcher Award will be announced on September 25 every year marking the birthday of Late Radhakrishnan Gopalan.
The award, IIM Lucknow statement said, comes with an initial corpus of around Rs 75 lakh and an annual award value of Rs 7 lakh. This award aims to recognise and encourage young faculty researchers at IIM Lucknow. The tenure of the endowment is 11 years.
At the inaugural ceremony of the Young faculty Award, the dean faculty, Professor Ajay Garg welcomed the gathering and shared the details of the initiative. Director, Professor Archana Shukla expressed her heartfelt gratitude and commended the batch of 1996 and friends of Late Radhakrishnan Gopalan for their generous initiative, the institute added. Radhakrishnan’s brother, Jay Gopalan, was also present in the launch of the endowment.
Applauding the 1966 batch for its initiative in establishing this prestigious award, the institute in a statement said: “This award not only recognises academic excellence but also empowers young faculty members to further their impactful research at IIM Lucknow. We eagerly anticipate the achievements of the future recipients of the Radhakrishnan Gopalan Young Faculty Researcher Award. The award will be granted annually to a deserving faculty member who meets specific eligibility criteria.”
