Muskan Agrawal, a student of the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) – Una, has made history by securing a remarkable job offer of Rs 60 lakh per annum from LinkedIn.
Hailing from Hathras in Uttar Pradesh, Muskan has accomplished a BTech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from IIIT Una, setting a new benchmark with the highest-ever salary package obtained by a student of her institute.
TECHGIG GEEK GODDESS 2022 CHAMPION
Muskan Agrawal’s journey to this extraordinary accomplishment began when she emerged as the ‘top woman coder’ and won a prize of Rs 1.5 lakh at TechGig Geek Goddess 2022.
In this competition, she triumphed over 69,000 women coders. The event witnessed finalists engaged in non-stop coding for four hours to submit their winning programming solutions.
Geek Goddess is an annual coding competition exclusively for women, established by India’s biggest technology community, TechGig. It serves as a platform that unites talented women engineers and leading technology companies, celebrating their coding brilliance and innovations at a national level.
A RISING CODING STAR
Muskan Agrawal is no stranger to coding; she has been honing her skills for years. In 2021, she contributed to various open-source projects while working with the Girlscript Foundation.
Her dedication to learning led to her selection as one of the top 40 women for LinkedIn’s mentorship programme, offering valuable one-on-one guidance from professionals at LinkedIn.
She also interned with TechCurators, where she created data structures and algorithm problems for coding platforms such as HackerEarth, Mettl, and TestGorilla.
In addition, she reviewed problems devised by other problem-setters. In 2022, Muskan earned recognition as a Harvard WECode Scholar, having participated in the world’s largest student-run tech conference, WECode, organised by undergraduate women at Harvard University.
A PATH TO SUCCESS
Muskan’s journey to success involved diverse experiences, from serving as a Software Development Engineer Intern at MyFab11 and LinkedIn to taking on roles as a Media and Outreach Chapter Leader at CodeChef from IIIT Una.
Her growth in the field of coding also saw her transition from mentee to mentor in the Codess Cafe community.
SETTING A NEW RECORD
In July 2023, Muskan Agrawal broke records with her impressive job offer of Rs 60 lakhs from LinkedIn, where she began her role as a software development engineer. Her achievements illustrate the incredible potential of dedicated young coders in India.
Last year, another trainee from IIIT-Una secured an annual package of Rs 47 lakhs, and approximately 86 percent of the 2019-23 batch trainees found placements in around 31 different companies.
Notably, one of Muskan’s peers at IIIT Una also obtained a job offer of Rs 50 lakhs, while two trainees received offers between Rs 30 and 40 lakhs, and seven trainees secured offers between Rs 40 and 50 lakhs.
