BENGALURU: Three colleges from Karnataka has been top ranked in Swachh Caampus Ranking released by Ministry of Human Resource Development on Monday. KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research has been raked third cleanest university across India, followed by Reva University which has been ranked sixth. St. Aloysius College, has been ranked third cleanest college across India.
In case of Reva University, it has a carbon free environment, waste water management system, recycling plant, rain water harvesting, composting mechanism etc. students and faculty likewise take up enterprising onus to plant trees all over the city. Another significant step taken in the right direction is the conscientious transformation of the campus into a digital one, where all processes are online, substantially reducing the usage of paper. Festivities too are markedly ecofriendly and harmless to nature., told the university officials .
Award was received by P Shyama Raju from HRD Minister Prakash Javdekar at the event.
Swachh Campus Rankings were released by MHRD minister Prakash Javdekar and AICTE officials in New Delhi ahead of 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
Ministry of Human resource and development had called in for entries on August 9, 2018 from all Higher educational institutes across the country. Of which 10 best institutions were selected on the basis of subsequent inspections and submissions. Colleges were judged on the basis of toilet adequacy, maintenance, garbage clearance systems, hostel kitchen hygiene, equipment sophistication, water purity, storage distribution; campus greenery, rain water harvesting, use of solar systems and village or neighborhood adoption for hygiene.
