Rajasthan PTET 2020 exam postponed

Rajasthan Pre Teacher Eligibility Test (PTET) has been postponed due to pandemic. Around 5.5 lakh students had registered for the exam that was supposed to be held on August 16.

To get admission in 1400 colleges in the state, PTET that is B.Ed. entrance test is organised. Graduation – BA, BSC and B.Com degree is the eligibility to sit for PTET. However, due to pandemic, none of the state universities have been able to conduct final year under graduate exam. This has created a hurdle in becoming eligible for the PTET exam.

G.P.Singh, coordinator Govt Dungar College, Bikaner said, “As the final year exams are not conducted the session is getting delayed. Moreover, MHRD had already issued guidelines that till August 31 no academic activities will be held in the country. Hence, we are waiting for the decision by the central government and to get the final under graduate results.”

Around 1 lakh seats are there in Rajasthan for two-year B.Ed. course and around 40,000 seats in four-year B.Ed. course.
