Joint Entrance Examination, JEE Main 2021 Paper 1 was conducted today in two shifts. Slot 1 was from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and Slot 2 was from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Nearly 2 lakh candidates are repordted to be registered for JEE Main Paper 1 today. Nearly 6.5 lakh students have registered for the JEE Main 2021 Paper 1 examination in February. The examination is being conducted in multiple slots across the country. JEE Mains 2021 Paper 1 Slot 2 Exam Analysis, Questions Asked
Mr. Saurabh Kumar, Director Academics, Vidyamandir Classes said that the paper did not have many surprises. Speaking on Slot 2, Saurabh shared that the Chemistry section had the usual expected questions. There were questions from s-block and inorganic chemistry. 3 questions in Chemistry section was from solutions and organic name reactions while there was also one question from Flame Test.
For Physics, Saurabh shared that 2 questions were from semiconductors, 1 question from percentage errors 1 question from AC circuit 1 question from rotation. Questions from modern physics, current electricity & thermodynamics, SHM were also asked. There were no question from ray optics but 1 question was asked from wave optics.
Mathematics section was not lengthy and there were many questions from coordinate geometry. Only a few questions were asked from Calculus in Slot 2 and there were questions from Matrices, 2 questions at least from determinants, vectors and 3D and a question from Permutations and Combinations.
Ajay Kumar Sharma, National Academic Director (Engineering), Aakash Educational Services Limited (AESL) said that the second slot difficulty level was easy with difficulty level highest for Maths and lowest for Chemistry.
Sharma shared that the Physical paper was overall moderate and covered almost all topics. Questions from Electrostatics, Mechanics, Optics & Modern Physics were reported by students. Integer type of questions were easy in Physics section.
Chemistry paper was moderate and balanced as it had an equal number of physical, organic, and inorganic chemistry questions. The integer type or numerical questions were lengthy and required calculations. As for Maths for Day 2 Slot 2, the difficulty level was moderate and most of the students were able to complete the section within the given time.
JEE Mains 2021 Paper 1 Slot 1- Expert Analysis
As per expert Ajay Kumar Sharma, National Academic Director (Engineering) Aakash Educational Services Ltd. (AESL), the overall paper was Moderate to Easy and the Paper was balanced. Almost all topics covered in every subject, students could complete in the given time. If we compare the difficulty level, we can say Maths >Chemistry >Physics.
A total of 30 questions were asked from each subject, of which 20 were MCQ and 10 integer types. Out of 10 integers as per the new pattern, only 5 need to be attempted. While appearing for the exam if the student has attempted the 5 questions, then the remaining 5 questions cannot be marked for integer types.
Another expert Saurabh Kumar, Director Academics, Vidyamandir Classes said that each question had 30 questions with a choice of 5 questions in integer type. In Chemistry, there were 2-3 questions which were a little odd mat be from the lab manual. Rest questions were from the periodic table, chemical bonding, equilibrium, solutions & organic concepts. For Physics, 3 questions were asked from semiconductors, 1 question from units & measurement, 12th class syllabus more dominated over class 11th no question from rotation. Questions from modern physics, current electricity & thermodynamics were also asked. The mathematics paper was not lengthy, questions from coordinate geometry, calculus, matrices & determinant vectors & 3D were asked.
JEE Mains 2021 Expected Cut off
Detailed exam analysis is awaited from experts. Based on the initial feedback of the students, experts are expecting a lower cut-off this year as compared to previous years. Though it is too soon to suggest, the number of students who have applied for JEE Main 2021 has considerably increased, which may lower the cut-off by a few points. Overall, as per previous trends, the expected cut-off is likely to hover around 110 to 130 marks for JEE Advanced 2021.

Students may please note that the scores would be converted into percentile scores and the actual cut off is likely to be calculated as per the NTA Score in percentiles. This cut off is indicative and expected to change as more slots are conducted. Section wise analysis is likely by late evening.
