Prime Minister Narendra Modi is attending the 54th convocation of IIT Kanpur today, i.e., December 28, 2021. PM Modi delivered the convocation speech and presented major awards. Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and Union Education, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship Minister Dharmendra Pradhan are also present at the event.
Prime Minister Modi talks about real-world challenges
During the event, PM Modi discussed the knowledge of students that helps them prepare for real-world challenges and work towards the betterment of society.
“You must be experiencing a massive transformation in yourself from the time you came into this organisation. When you arrived, you must’ve had a fear of the unknown. IIT Kanpur has taken you out of that and given you a massive canvas,” said PM Modi.
“Your training, skill, and knowledge of today will definitely aid you in achieving your place in practical goals. The personality that you’ve developed here will give you the power to serve society as a whole and empower your nation,” he further added.
Convocation in hybrid mode
The convocation ceremony is taking place in hybrid mode, with adherence to all Covid-19 safety and protocols.
The institute conducted the RT-PCR tests of all the attendees a day prior to the convocation and a subsequent Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) was conducted on the convocation day before the event started.
