Sightsavers Invites Application for India Fellowship Programme

Sightsavers India, an organisation dedicated to prevent avoidable blindness, is inviting applications for its India Fellowship Programme. Interested and eligible candidates can apply at the official website — indiafellowshipprogram.sightsaversindia.in.

The last date to apply is June 30. Fellows will be informed whether they have been selected or not via email by July, and the fellowship progamme will begin in August.

The 24-month long will train ophthalmologists at some of the leading eye health institutes in the country and apply these skills and knowledge in real world scenarios.

The fellowship programme aims to groom young ophthalmologists and enhance their perspectives on rural eye health. The fellows will have to follow a structured skill enhancement and mentoring process over the duration of the programme. It will cover clinical and surgical ophthalmology.

Selected fellows of the Sightsavers India Fellowship Programme will be trained at leading eye health institutions in Delhi, Noida and Kolkata. The programme includes district posting, one-on-one clinical-surgical mentorship and participation in community-based surveys. Fellows will receive a stipend, residential facility and international exposure.

In order to apply, the candidate must have a post-graduate degree or diploma in ophthalmology (MS/ DNB/ DO) from a recognised institute/ university in India and have knowledge of clinical ophthalmology.
