The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has released the IGNOU Prospectus in Braille Script. The prospectus was launched by Om Birla, the Speaker of the Lok Sabha.
The prospectus in Braille equips individuals, well-versed in reading Braille script, with information about the institute regarding programmes, admission process, IGNOU’s objectives and more.
He also unveiled and inaugurated the statue of Baba Saheb Ambedkar at the IGNOU Headquarters. “The statue serves as a beacon of inspiration for the youth, igniting their energy and leading India to greater heights, guided by the philosophy of Babasaheb Ambedkar,” the institute stated.
The Speaker also inaugurated an exhibition showcasing innovative startup products and solutions developed by IGNOU students. He engaged with IGNOU learners through the teleconferencing facility at the Electronic Media Production Center. The learners shared their learning experiences, emphasizing the role of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) intervention in their educational journey.
In addition to this, he also inaugurated the Research Unit Building within the IGNOU HQ campus, dedicating it as Savitri Bai Phule Bhawan in tribute to the renowned social reformer and educationist.
