The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore will start the GATE 2024 exam from February 3. The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2024 will be conducted over the weekends between February 3 and 11, 2024. The exams will be held in two sessions – forenoon and afternoon. The forenoon session exams will be held from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and the afternoon session exams will be conducted between 2:30 pm and 5:30 pm.
The gate2024.iisc.ac.in is hosting the GATE 2024 admit cards. Candidates will have to mandatorily bring the hall ticket to the exam centre. In addition to the hall ticket, the GATE 2024 aspirants will also have to take a valid photo identity card to the exam venue.
Around 6.70 lakh candidates registered for GATE last year and out of them, around 5.17 lakh candidates appeared for the examination in more than 500 centres across the country. About 18 per cent of the candidates had qualified the exam.
GATE 2024 will be in English and entirely of the objective type. The types of questions in GATE 2024 will include multiple choice questions (MCQ), multiple select questions (MSQ) and numerical answer type (NAT) questions. In MCQs, only one out of four options is correct. In MSQs, one or more than one out of four options is/are correct; and for NAT questions, the answer must be keyed in using a virtual keypad. The candidates must use only the on-screen virtual calculator provided for their calculations.
