To examine the possibilities of academic cooperation between Universities in Telangana State and the University of Pittsburgh, Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) has signed an MOU with the University of Pittsburgh.
On Thursday, University of Pittsburgh delegation comprising Dr. Ariel Armony, Dr. Joseph S Alter, Dr. Arjang A Assad, and Joseph M Katz met Chief Secretary Dr. S K Joshi, Chief Advisor to the Government of Telangana Dr. Rajiv Sharma and Secretary, Education B Janardhan Reddy.
The delegation appreciated the initiatives being taken up in the field of Higher Education by the State government. They assured full support and cooperation for establishing a network of partnerships with Universities and Research Centres in Telangana and to develop research and student learning initiatives. The delegation expressed keen interest in understanding the higher education systems and the initiatives being undertaken to enhance the quality and building and entrepreneurial mindset amongst students and also approaches of the government to facilitate academic partnerships.

The general objective of this Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is to stimulate and facilitate the development of collaborative and mutually beneficial programmes which serve to enhance the intellectual life and educational development in Telangana and to contribute to increased international cooperation in the field of Higher Education.
The University of Pittsburgh is a state-related research university, founded as the Pittsburgh Academy in 1787 and has been widely acclaimed for its teaching and research activities in the field of Medicine, Education and Engineering and Management.
