The Indian Institute of Management, Sambalpur today inaugurated its 9th MBA batch 2023-25, which is also the biggest batch till now, with a total of 329 students taking admission this year. The batch size has increased from 320 to 329 this time.
Additionally, the institute has also seen an increase in the number of female students as a total of 60 per cent (197 students) are female candidates in the ninth MBA batch. Male students bagged the rest 40 per cent of the seats (132 seats).
Several experts were present at the inauguration ceremony such as Dr Tapan Kumar Chand, President of Vedanta Ltd. and Swati Agarwal, Partner at Deloitte, who provided inspiring insights to all students present at the ceremony. The experts advised students to stay open-minded in their academic journeys ahead.

The three lines in IIM Sambalpur’s logo depict those three Is in the form of famous Sambalpuri handloom design. These are the three core values if focused can help Indian B-schools to rank globally. Going forward I believe that these values will be the differentiating factor in the learning journey of the incoming batch. I hope this transformative educational experience for the students will bring about a bigger societal impact in future,” Prof. Mahadeo Jaiswal, Director, IIM Sambalpur said.
