DTU Student Secures AIR 19 in UPSC CSE 2022 in First Attempt

NEW DELHI: Laghima Tiwari, a former student of the Delhi Technology University (DTU), has brought laurels to the university by securing the 19th rank in UPSC Civil Services Examination, CSE 2022.

Tiwari, was a student of BTech Electronics and Communication at DTU. She completed her degree in 2021. She secured rank 19 in the UPSC CSE 2022 in her first attempt.

She hails from Alwar in Rajasthan. Her father, Satish Chand Sharma, is a teacher and mother Kanta Sharma is a homemaker. Laghima Tiwari’s schooling and upbringing took place in Delhi. After pursuing BTech from DTU, Tiwari started preparing for the UPSC CSE exam.

A total of 933 candidates have been recommended for appointment for the Indian Civil Services through the UPSC CSE result 2022. Out of the total candidates, 345 are from the general category, 99 are from EWS, 263 from OBC, 154 from SC and 72 from the ST category.

The UPSC CSE preliminary exam was held on June 5, 2022, and the results were released on June 22. The main exam was from September 16 to 25. The results were declared on December 6 and the interview round took place on May 18.

This year, 14,624 candidates have qualified for the UPSC CSE Mains exam 2023. The UPSC CSE Prelims exam was held on May 28.
